There are 2 types of viewpoints when it comes to showcasing social proof in the B2B market (small businesses).
*Sidenote: Social proof is a powerful tactic at the end of the content funnel to convince future buyers that YES YOU can also get these results and I AM the one to help you.
▪️ Viewpoint #1: “Things I did to help my small biz client generate 10K revenue last month (a 100% conversion increase)”
▪️ Viewpoint #2: “YIKES, so gross when people talk about money. I’m not in business to make money.”
… Lately, I’ve seen A LOT of negative talk related to money and business owners on my Instagram feed (specifically among online coaches).
Let’s UNPACK IT.
My 🔥🔥 Perspective on this:
FIRST OFF – as a business owner looking to hire someone, I’m looking for numbers. What results can I expect from hiring you? SHOW me.
So yes, I’m absolutely FOR posting your numbers as case studies to show proof of results.
👀 BUT – I believe viewpoint #2 actually touches on a deeper “problem” = Money-Mindset among small biz owners
→ How have you ever told yourself:
“I’m scared of raising my prices, what if it’s too expensive, What if nobody buys at this price point”?
❌ = Decision-making BASED on FEELINGS.
✔️ Instead, use DATA-driven decisions. Calculate costs, research market price points, etc.
Wanting to do good, make an impact, and be empath-lead biz – are all amazing aspects to bring into your business. ❤️
… But let’s not forget what a business IS and NEEDS to exist in the first place.
